Our Team

Deer Island Studio, a media production & design agency, was founded in 2017 by Trav Williams (a commercial photographer & videographer), and Ryan JP (an established illustrator and graphic designer). Our intent was to merge the skills of various creatives into a cohesive business that could offer more full-service attention to the clients we support.
We have a pool of individuals with which we work on client projects, including other graphic designers, voice artists, musicians, architects, photographers, web designers, and printers.
We generally prefer to work with nonprofits doing good in the world, and businesses that support positive change, especially around food, agriculture, and community-building.

Trav Williams

Trav grew up on a farm on the North Oregon coast, herding zucchini and fighting off daity cows. While he graduated culinary school and has degrees in agroecology and anthropology, it is photography that has remained a consistent career focus throughout his life.
Through personal projects and professional tasks, he has documented hundreds of farms and farmers of all sizes and types around the United States. Currently he lives on the North Oregon Coast, and is plotting a return to his homestead.

Ryan Pedersen

Ryan is an artist. He works in multiple mediums to produce illustrations, brand design, and graphics for clients of all scales. He is frequently able to produce design that is far and above expectations.
He has produced almost all of the logos and illustrative art found througout the Deer Island site.
